South Russia (1919–1920)

South Russia or South of Russia ((ロシア語:Юг Росси́и)) was a territory that existed from 1919 — 1920 during the Russian Civil War. Spanning across Ukraine and southern Russia, it included the territories of the Southern Front of the Russian Civil War controlled by the anti-Bolshevik Volunteer Army, and later by the united Armed Forces of South Russia.
In Soviet historiography, it was called White South (White South or Russia), in reference to the concept of the White Army. It was never a formal subdivision, neither did it have strict boundaries.〔Ушаков А. И., Федюк В. П. Белый Юг. Ноябрь 1919 — ноябрь 1920. — Москва: АИРО-XX, 1997. — ISBN 5-88735-045-8.〕
Attempts to establish civil governments in the area include the South Russian Government and Government of South Russia.
